We are going to try again.
Instead of the Valdes comp on the 8th we are going to run the Woolami boat comp previously postponed. Rob may be away on the 8th so Valdes will be postponed to when it suits.
The new date for the woolami boat comp is the 15th Jan. As before boats will leave from Newhaven(sign on / off) , travel to the dive site where the 6 hour comp will start and finish.
Its 2 weeks before Western districts . At this stage there are 2 boats and a ski so please indicate if a ride is required or you have rides available on your boat.
There will be a meeting Jan

I'm in. Just a reminder that this is not a true boat comp, boats are simply used to shuttle competitors to the dive location and back. I hope we get a good turn out, also it would be great if someone could bring the trailer.

Woolami comp is at this early stage a go. Gather at the Newhaven boat ramp at 7.00 for sign on and safety check for an 8.00 departure. Boats transport divers to the dive site where when everyone is ready comp will start.(Boats are all anchored together and we start at the boats) Its a 6 hour comp. Comp finishes back at the boats at the finish time then transports back to the ramp where the weigh in is held.

We do need to make sure we have enough space on boats to transport all divers . Please post here if you have a boat and are going.
Paul Dorf - Boat- prob full
Murray - ?
Me - Ski - Full ( It doesn't take much)
Anyone else with a boat going ?
It would be great if you can organise your own rides but we will make sure everyone gets to the start.

Please don't start ringing about the weather at this early stage.

Is it a feasible trip in a 14 ft snipe tinnie?

I could get my hands on one but it doesn't have a radio (which I think you mentioned at the meeting) or dive flag, but otherwise all the gear. A car to tow it would be handy to hahaha.....

I am not a boat expert I would but suggest that a 14ft tinnie would be fine on a perfect day however this is Victoria . The likely hood that it is dead flat is very small. There will most likely be some chop and wind.
Make your own decision as it gets closer.
