The Southern Freedivers will be running a Pairs competition this weekend on Sunday the 5th June, all points will go towards the pairs trophy and no individual aggregate points will be gained.

We will be meeting at Koonya at 8am for a 9am start. Standard score sheet and entry forms apply as well as safety gear(whistle, mirror, flag,float-1between 2divers and knife).

All AUF members are welcome to compete and non members are welcome to come along for a social dive. Sign on will be $15 each diver. With a BBQ and drinks afterwards at the weigh-in.

Are gusts coming along for a social dive permitted to spear?

Today we had the SFD Pairs competition. If you decided to stay in bed this morning due to an average forecast, you made the wrong decision. It was a tricky entry for all divers into the water, however once clear of the surf we had 5-10m viz.
Fitzy and Watto take home this years pairs trophy weighing in 8 fish. Stoj and Pete coming in 2nd.
Most notable fish of the day was Fitzy and Watto's 10kg+ conger.
There was a great turnout out with 5 or 6 new divers coming along for a social dive, and also 5 members from Geelong Freedivers.
Watto's venison steaks didn't last long once off the BBQ
We will be holding this competition again early in the new season. The next one will be bigger and better, with an information night prior to the competition. Watch this space.
