This weekend as per meeting last night we are looking at running a Boat Comp in the bay.......only if the Port Fairy Boat comp gets cancelled.

This will be similar to the St Kilda boat comp that used to run in the past except that
-start of the comp and end is at Brighton boat ramp at the end of North Rd.
-we have also made a decision to confine the competition area to within Port Phillip bay that means that we have created an Exclusion boundary between Point Nepean and Queenscliff that you can't go over.

Conditions so far look great for Sat. Winds this week have been Easterly and the next 3 days are forecast to be northerly. East of the bay all the way to further north is offering pristine clear water. Winds are up in the morning on Sat but then start to decrease.

Final call will be made on Thurs night.

Answers to Questions
1) This is a committee decision to make sure we get in as many of the 8 aggregate comps on our calendar completed.
2) Plenty of shore diving options are available, you can drive to any bay location providing you start and end at the allocating starting point.
3) Port Fairy Boat comp (last Hannan comp) if cancelled this weekend is only being postponed. We are hoping to run it on the first spare weekend which is the 23rd April the next week after Easter. This is run by SCS and is non aggregate comp.
4) Brighton bay boat comp is replacing Woolamai Anchored Boat comp and is SFD aggregate.
5) Brighton boat ramp has plenty of boat trailer parking roughly 50 spots that is shared with normal cars and 3 lanes to launch incl small jetty to moor alongside and close by areas for our weigh in and barbecue
6)SFD have one more aggregate comp remaining on the calendar which was Comp 3 a Mornington Peninsula Shore Based comp

Port Fairy Boat Comp has been called OFF by SCS.

Brighton Boat comp decision for Sat will be made later on tonight.
Sunday is no go due to higher winds turning westerly.

Hi All,

Unfortunately due to high winds, the Brighton boat comp is being called OFF for this weekend.

There is a fair bit of interest in this comp and we will try to run this comp after Easter (weather permitting).
