Anyone else looked at the vicroads web for road closures? Major flooding. I have and it doesn't look good for those of us travelling from Melbourne area trying to get to Eden for the comp.

I have USFA membership, NSW fish licence and Accom booked in Lakes entrance and Merimbula. Thought all was sorted and getting keen to hit the comp. Now thinking I will try and get a credit for accom and do a trip later in the year.

I am also thinking the water will be dirty as all get out too. Not to mention the swell forcast hasn't been good this week either. Monday swell next week didn't look to bad but it's a long way to go for crap conditions. Thoughts please?

If anyone has any solid info on what might happen re roads or even if the comp will still go ahead please post a reply. Thanks.

Just got a msg from the boys who left for Eden Tuesday...they have been stuck in lakes entrance since. The road to the border has been shut, slight chance it might open up today.

peace.

Sorry, I didn't go. Spoke to the Mullet on Friday as he was checking out the conditions, in his words "the water is like chocolate, save ya fuel tickets." So I went to Footy club reunion and drowned my sorrows.

Would like to hear what it was like comp day out of interest too?

Spoke to Muzza last night. Apparently it was;
1. Pucko
2. RT
3. Muzz

Bloody good result. I'm sure Muzz can rest easy coming 3rd to a 8 time Aussie champ and 7 time Aussie champ respectively.

Hopefully someone can put up a full account of the comp.

Very tuff conditions, 2-4m vis at best for the comp. 15deg water, but flat sea's which was good for the boat race from the start. Plenty of good fish came in still, 4kg+tailer,bonito,2kg trevs, 2+kg samlon, big red rockies and all the usuals.

Pucko had 15 species,me and garth 14, Rob and aaron puckerage 13.
Rob's monster tailer got him above me :/ but was still stoked with 3rd. Like lethal said 15 aussie titles between the 2 guys that knocked me off so i cant complain. Rob and I won the pairs also, and i took out the senior's.

Great comp and we had a good piss up last night, heads still thumping :|
