Stunning conditions greeted us at Sorrento Ocean Beach. Very small turnout; perhaps some of you just can't be dragged from a computer screen? Visibility was up to 15metres and there were fish every where. The Results 1 Ashleigh Illingworth 10 Species (9 weighed in) Ladies/Junior 2 Margie Bagby 8 Species Ladies/Open 3 Luke ? 5 Species Senior 4 Josh Goss 5 Species Junior 5 Russell ? 3 Species Senior Heaviest fish was a 7940gm conger eel by Margie. Fish list Conger Eel 1 Line Leatherjacket 1 Longfin Pike 1 Boarfish 1 Trumpeter 1 Banded Morwong 1 Dusky Morwong 1 Zebra Fish 1 Horseshoe Leather Jacket 2 Black Parrot 3 Blue Throat 4 Six Spine Leatherjacket 4 Magpie Perch 5 Sweep 5 14 Species 31 Fish 30.3 kg As a very proud Dad, I must include my daughter Ashleigh's Scoresheet. Trumpeter 1100gms Sweep 800gms Boarfish 410gms Six Spine 690gms Magpie 610gms Horseshoe 520gms Line LJ 420gms Black Parrot 420gms Blue Throat 1600gms WATCH OUT FRANK!! The dive was a good introduction to comps, held in great conditions. Many thanks to Paul and Margie for supplying t-shirts and hats to the paticipants. By the way; Drew caught two hefty crays and Justin managed a small one. |

This comp was open to all comers; not just club members. It was an introductory comp for non-comp divers/beginners, to give them an idea as to what it is all about. We will have another soon. |

Awesome stuff...great to see the younger folk getting stuck into a great sport and getting out and active. Can someone please tell me what beach that is in Sorrento? ie. Road |
