Message from our founder, Rob Torelli:

Enrique “Cak” Valdes Memorial Spearfishing Competition/Social Meet.

The Enrique “Cak” Valdes Memorial Spearfishing Competition/Social Meet is planned for Sunday February 11th at Fossil Beach, Mornington. This social competition/meet is held annually and this year we have planned it at Mornington and in February to help ensure both good weather and a good attendance. Every one is welcome!

The plan is to meet @ 8 am at Fossil Beach, Mornington. The comp is a pairs comp, (1 float per pair) and is fished in a friendly nature.

The dive will happen between 9AM and 1 PM followed immediately by the weigh in and BBQ We plan to be having a few drinks, the weigh in and BBQ from 1.30 PM onwards.

Should you have any queries, do not hesitate to contact Rob Torelli on 0417 55 99 85.

We are hoping that this years meet will have a good turn out. “Caks” brother Nelson will be competing, (pairing with Rob Torelli) and we both hope to see a lot of Cak’s friends down at the Island.

See you all there!

According to the forecast; the winds will be strong but offshore. Hopefully today's conditions haven't stuffed the viz. See you all tomorrow 8am Fossil Beach.

Official results yet to be posted. Here's a snapshot:

1. Rob & Nelson (Valdez) 12
2. Justin & Chris 11
3. Louie & Paul 10
4. Aaron & Drew 10

Best fish was Paul's 390gm Silver Dory (this is not a misprint). We got 150 points since it was a A scale bonus. Correctly identified (Hutchins and Swainston)

Yeah. Apparently they had taggers.

Re fish, Brett Illingworth has all the pics so give him a yell and he should pop it onto an email.
