Leigh has brought this very nice, excel score sheet to my attention. It automatically works out your score from weight and it tells you your full score.

you can get it here: http://southernfreedivers.org.au/forms_and_pdfs/Comp-Score-Sheet.xls

Note* you need Excel installed to use this.

Remember to thank Leigh!

Champion effort. Jees it would be nice for these to be used at weighins rather than using the paper sheets. That way we could easily have all the catch and effort data in a database. Doesn't sound important, but they will be in the future!

Great effort Leigh. I just gave it a go and all worked fine. Could possibly enhance it by including more diver tabs, then a separate sheet to rank all the divers automatically.

Also, the blank spots at the end of each section are for any unusual/unlisted captures. You would need to include the formulas for these rows as well.

Well done!

Gig

PS Spelling mistake for Trevally. Sand Flathead needs to have a space removed.

Thanks guys..

I really only spent half an hour on it with the intention being to give people a quick way of calculating their scores.

I don't know how Brett currently does it, and tracks it over the year.. But if we want to use this sheet a bit I will put a marco in to rank the divers (overall and per grade). This will allow you to have a sheet that tracks scores over the year. You also have a database of all the divers and species shot for the year.

This might be useful when deciding if a fish stays on the list or gets the arse???

Anyway let me know your opinions. And by the way the blank lines do have formulas, and i never claimed to be a good speller!!

Cheers,
Leigh

You might want to discuss this further with gigantor, but i was talking to him on the phone and reckons it would be a great idea to have separate tabs for other divers and have the comps placed out on computer instead of paper.
If you have time to add more to it, it will be greatly appreciated.

Kurt.

Yeah all that's a peice of piss.. It's just a matter of whether we want to do weigh-in's like that (it might take an extra 5 minutes). But i'm more than happy to bring my laptop down and trial it at the next comp.

Once the weigh in is complete it's just a matter of clicking a button to obtain the results.

Good work guys. I think we will always keep the hard copy as an official record and offer the carbon copy to the divers. Will write down scores first and input later. Running totals for the year sounds good too. The macro will also have to take into account that we tally up the best 6 of 8 competitions. Re rows, I stand corrected. Must have input the weight into the wrong column.
