To the best of my knowledge to still a go on that date. I think Drews bucks is the weekend after. Sat-club comp /part 1 Western districts and Sunday part 2 of Western districts.
I most likely wont get there so someone will have to step up to organise it.
I suspect we will have to re-date the Aireys inlet comp on the 5th Feb.

At this very early stage its not looking too bad. Swell should be dropping and there is a big high on the way. Vis is not that great.I have never dived there before so any info from those that have would be great.I think Sat is Griffiths Island (Club comp and day 1 west coast) Sunday Killarney.(Day 2 west coast).
I will be diving Sat but not Sunday.

I just got of the Phone to Peter Riddle (Port Fairy Abalone Diver and multiple Western Districts Champ). He says today is glass out and great vis. There is a hump in the swell coming but he's confident that Saturday will be OK. Sunday a bit more suspect but diveable.
Heat 1 on Saturday is also a Club Comp and results go to aggregate. Western Districts Champion is determined over 2 heats. If only 1 heat is swum due to weather that heat determines Champ and club dive. Meet at the front of the Southcombe Caravan Park 8am Saturday morning. Conveners will determine dive location ( usually Killarney or Griffith Island but other sites have been dived in the past such as the Crags, Pea Soup and Piggy Smith's).
See you all there!

Sounds good, I had a look at the weather and agree that Saturday looks the pick. I hope to see a good turn out, including any new guys!

Just a reminder on this weekends comp, hope to have a great turn out like the last comp this is my favourite comp of the year great two days and well worth the drive. A lot of us stay at Southcombe caravan park if you are looking for a place to pitch a tent $42 a night for a powered site and not sure on price on unpowered sites. Club trailer will be there and BBQ will happen after both dives hope to see all of you there.
