After many hours of work the competition committee announce the updated competition rules that will apply for future comps. Make sure you download a copy and have a good read. There are some changes and additions you should all be familiar with before the first comp.
A competition entry form has also been uploaded.
It needs to be downloaded and filled out before every comp and given to the sign on official when paying your entry on the day of the comp. (8 comps / 8 forms).
No form - No entry.

Kurt will get these up ASAP.

What happens if the Dive Convenor wishes to protest? Is there a minimum number of members for a protest committee to demonstrate probity or a hierarchy for choosing them eg committe > official > competitor ?

Not that I'm having a go at Mr Brown Mullet but just wondering in principle.

How does the must personally sign off bit work in with the cattle tags idea?

Would the club consider buying some reflective tape for float flags at comps because I doubt most have it?

Should the comp entry form have an admin box for verifying that the competitor has mirror/whistle or is that still on the sign in sheet?

I suspect that if the dive convenor wishes to protest then there will be a bloody big argument . I admit we did not think of that.
The cattle tag idea is still not decided. Sign off arrangements will be made for anyone going early.
Mirrors and whistles as well as other safety gear will be checked physically on the day.

The Convenor is the Convenor. If he catches someone breaking the rules he doesn't have to make a protest, he just disqualifies the individual. I disqualified a diver at a St,Kilda boat comp when he left his float in his boat and was diving more that 30 metres from his boat which also had no flag. I believe another diver was disqualified for being in the Portsea zone. These are the only disqualifications that I can recall in 14 years of SFD comps. Officials can disqualify competitors. Protests arise when a competitor believes another competitor has broken the rules. He takes his evidence to the the officials to make a judgement. If your got a problem with the officials that needs to be dealt with elsewhere.

I remember a couple of blokes being disqualified for being 4-5mins late too, even tho the next year people were allowed to be 15mins late. Poor blokes would have won too.

There's a bit of conveners discretion in there also! :P

That's right, I forgot about us getting disqualified in the Valdes pairs Rhino, and we would have won!

With the 4 nominated pairs competitions, is that for 4 comps of the pairs choice from the overall series, or is it 4 comps nominated by the club prior to the event.
I assume that if you enter into 4 pairs competitions this rules you out of scoring for the overall singles competition.

You can fish any of the comps as a pair, but can only count your four best.
If you fish four as pairs there is nothing to stop you fishing the others as an individual.

Are the pairs Eden style (ie. add up two individually weighed scores) or kiwi style (ie. two divers one float, weighed together)?
