So if you weigh as a pair you score zero in the individual? Ie. wrecking your season score for the other 4 comps you will dive as an individual? or half/full of the pair score?

It really is a simple choice. Pairs or solo. We are also holding a dedicated State pairs competition this year. The 4 comp series is for club aggregate Pairs Champ. (entry not mandatory ie. fun(ish) comp.) This was seen as another way to get some extra bods interested in comp diving, as well as allowing for Father/Son/Daughter/Mother/Girlfriend/Boyfriend/Novice/Mentor/Mates etc the chance to swim/play/compete together.

Was gonna ask at the meeting tonight but still working on the island so prob not gonna make it.

4mt float line???
So you have to swap guns if the bloke on that line wants to dive deeper or untether and swap lines?

The diver holding the 4m line CAN'T dive, hence the one up one down. You can swap at any time though

Swap what? Guns?

Pain in the arse, if I was diving with my son or someone less experienced and see a fish at depth that he couldn't get we've gotta waste time swapping and watch the fish swim away?

Rhino this is the way the AUF,interpacifics and New Zealand run there pairs, it's not something the SFD have made up.
Time wasting???? I know from the pairs diving Iv done that very rarely are both divers on the surface, as soon as your pair grabs the 4m line your off. Hardly time waisting.
If you have your son as a partner clearly you need to be diving in an area that suits him, not off diving 15-20m of water.

Never dived pairs like that, if that's how it's done elsewhere then sweet should be no wukkas. Was only asking the question, I just pictured swimming along 20mts from the float in 8-10mts of water when then bloke with the short line sees a fish at more than 4 and has to get the attention of whoevers in front before it pisses off.
