The Southern Freedivers club are hosting the 3rd annual Victorian Kingfish Cup this week end (16-17th of February) and the long range forecast is looking good. There has been some great Kingfish action across the state and this week end should be no different. The Southern Freedivers have arranged over $1000 worth of quality prizes from their key sponsors Pelagic Spearfishing Supplies, Esclapez Australia and Rob Torelli – Diving Down Under.
The sign on is to be done via the internet and all the relevant information is on the website link below.

The weigh in/BBQ and presentation is to be held at Tooradin Boat Ramp and park NOT the Dandenong Club Rooms. Official sign off time is 1500 hrs (3pm) but we will gather from 2pm onwards for BBQ, drinks and storytelling time. The presentation will follow the weigh in. Most prizes awarded to mystery sign on so be in it for a chance to win quality items like wetsuits, fins, etc. Remember, there is also a prize for the most meritorious fish (non Kingfish) and even the heaviest crayfish.
This is one of the most exciting and best sponsored competitions in Victoria so sign on and have a go.

On long range forecast Sunday looks much better than Saturday. I found it hard to say no to good weather, maybe we should consider to do the comp on the best day? I want to dive the comp but no way I can make it on time from the prom on Sunday.

Saturday is going to be flat as in some of the best shore diving spots for kings so why would we can it saturday??? And u can still do the prom sunday and make it to the weigh in.The weigh in location is 2 hours from shallow inlet. Get up early and you will still get 3or4 hours in the water down there.

Remeber that most of the prizes are mystery prize so spending the day chasing crays and snapper, whitting or what ever could land u a great prize. Its not just about kingies this year.

Land based option for kings this weekend would be Liptrap,Pyramid, shank,Woolami,Nobbies.

Remember to sign on before tomorrow night, if you dont you miss out.

There will be a BBQ and drinks at the weigh in, so get your family to come along if you like

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY FOR SUBMITTING YOUR ENTRY FORMS AND PAYMENT.

Unlike the club comp series where there is a sign on area and convenor to collect your forms and money this comp is unique that sign on is done remotely.

Here it is Once again - rule number 6:

Sign-on forms will be accepted in person at the SFD club meeting or via. email with sign on fee to be paid in cash or direct deposited to the Southern Freedivers Inc.

Peace.

Anyone booked a cabin on Phillip island or surroundings and still have two spare beds? Happy to share costs.
