I sincerely hope that no one from the comp committee or any one who influenced the comp committee is not found to be in the water Saturday scouting/fish feeding/marking. That could be interpreted as cheating.

Please explain??? Is willy weather saying its dead flat?

I am not accusing just making an observation. The committee has deemed it unsafe Saturday - arguably a fair call with modern weather forecasting. My observation is that if any of the decision makers happen to get there early and are in the water Saturday whilst others have changed their plans to arrive later then it can be seen to be very convenient for them. Please guys, for safety and ethical reasons, don't dive Saturday. Peace

Pitty you weren't this vocal at our nationals when the saftey boat drive said it was to rough yet he took his mates scouting that day :/. If individuals decide they want to dive tomorrow in crap conditions that's their decision, got nothing to do with you!

Hello All.

Just gone through the SOUTHERN FREEDIVERS SPEARFISHING COMPETITION RULES – CLUB SERIES

http://southernfreedivers.org.au/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4045

Which I believe will also be the rules that are going to be governing the state titles.

Document does not state any rule for any scouting or shooting fish the day before a comp.

As for diving the Saturday, those who do dive it, it will be at their own risk as the comp committee has already indicated the adverse weather conditions. There is nothing official preventing anyone from doing this. You do it at your own risk against safety warnings from the comp committee.

As for insinuating cheating and ethical issues, thats open for personal opinion and should be done in a closed forum ie. Private Message

Which leads me to request that if ANYONE has any concerns, do it via PM and not in an open forum.

I personally don't want this to detract from a Great Weekend Cape Conran will be.
Good luck and safe diving to all competitors!!!
Peace.

Nigz

I've done a few trips to Conron before and looking at the weather forecast I'd guess the west side of West Cape would be quite safe and divable on Saturday. In front of the ramp isn't as good as in front of the point but there is still some nice fish out there. Last time I went I got a couple of black drummer around the 2kg mark and a boarfish not much lighter. I've even pinged a banded morwong virtually on the ramp.

I was more vocal than you know Muzza, I nearly came to blows over that bullshit.
Yes individuals can dive tomorrow of their own, hopefully, well considered choice.

Greg there's a jetty next to that ramp, with a 30m exclusion zone.

Well done Claire. Awesome effort considering you got your catch stolen by Sammy the seal on day 2.
Next time take my hatchet and imagine the seal is that log from sun night
Great work & well deserved in tough conditions
Geoff & Carly :P
