Around 4 hours is the time. In saying that, the water is still cold and it may be earlier!

The comp will run from 9am for 6hrs finishing up at 3pm weigh in at 3:15pm
You do not have to stay in the water the whole time, if you wish to get out early and wait around for the way in that is fine or if you wish to leave early make sure a note is left on a vehicle to say you left otherwise we will be looking for you in the water

Thanks
Good to know you won't leave anyone behind.
Actually I was imagining when water is warm in summer, someone forgets the time and comes out of water at 5pm. Everybody else is gone  a bit awkward

If I have to leave at 2pm, does that mean most likely my catch will miss 'weight in' procedure?

You can leave your catch under someone's car in a bucket of water and it'll be weighed, there will be a briefing on the day with tides, currents etc

Regarding sign on and off. In the interests of the mental health of all concerned. If you sign on... it will be expected that you hang around so that you can officially sign off. Leaving the area, or a small note may/will/is not generally acceptable. We need to have accountability and cannot assume that someone has simply got cold or tired and has exited the area. Hang around... or face a good slapping.

If you can't make the duration of the comp then by all means go down and use it as a social dive. Don't sign on and ask around to dive near someone of like mind.
It is still bloody cold to try and dive 6hrs. Perhaps set your sights on diving longer when the water warns a bit, will be more fish about later this year too. Good luck
