I have a boat Mick - the issue is if we take it where do we dive, I don't dive or fish that end of the peninsula very often so not much knowledge....

I am thinking I will do a shore dive as more time in the water and more relaxing? I was hoping the swell would drop enough to get out on the back beaches but maybe not looking likely.

Yip, I'm in the same boat... but keen to get out on the day. Maybe we should head off in the same direction and team up for the rookie Hannen as Alan suggested. Back beaches sounds good, if the swell plays along.

Nothing wrong with shore diving fellas, plenty of people do it and are very competitive. In fact a shore diver won 2 years ago.

On a different note seeing that you boys have just started getting involved in the comps. I would be doing some homework in regards to getting to know what fish are eligible to shoot and what the min sizes are. I have organised an area on the site to gain a little bit more knowledge.

Go to

Common Victorian Fish Section
And under topics you will see 3 different stickied Southern Freediver Scoresheet Species Pics pgs which show all the species and their required weights or length(garfish)
