Newhaven Boat Competition is planned for Sunday the 21st (this Sunday) of February. Details for the competition will be in a follow up post on this thread. Please comment on this thread if you have a boat / are in need of a boat ride on the day. The competition will start from the Newhaven boat ramp (unless indicated otherwise) located at Phillip Island (just past the bridge). Always a good competition, don't forget $15 sign on. Sign on forms WILL NOT be provided by Andrew or the committee on the day, so please bring your forums filled out. All safety gear WILL BE checked on the day, and must abide by the SFD rules and regulations of the competitions (see competitions rules thread) The dive conveyor will post on the Thursday prior to the competition in regards to the conditions and whether it will be safe / dive worthy on the day. The Newhaven boat competition is also the third and final heat of the Hannan competition and the teams are close in that! I look forward to seeing you all on the day! Thanks, Mitch. |

The final call for whether competition will be held on Sunday will be made by tomorrow (FRIDAY) 4pm. At this stage, the conditions look like 4ft swell with 10-13 knots in the Easterly - South Easterly direction (E-SE) which is not ideal for small boats and shore divers. Final call, tomorrow 4pm. Thanks for your patience! |

This Sunday's competition (Newhaven Boat Competition) will be called OFF and postponed to next weekend due to poor weather( E-SE winds 10-13 knots and high swell). We will aim to hold the competition next Sunday which will depend on the weather as well. Thank you for your patience. |

Hello I'm 15 and in need of a boat. I have all the safety gear and a AUF membership with this club so I should be fine. If you need you can call me at: 045538854 to run me through any information or equipment needed. If there is any petrol money or expenses I will chip in. This will be my first time doing a comp so I'm very interested. Thanks -Ben |

Hi Ben, you might struggle to get a boat ride at this stage. There is plenty of spots to shore dive though. |

The Newhaven Boat Competiton is scheduled for this Sunday as the weather conditions werent favourable last Sunday. The dive conveyor will determine whether or not the conditions are in our favour this weekend towards the end of the week. Fingers Crossed! Shore dive locations WILL BE available for those who do not have access to a boat. Saturday MAY be used if Sunday isnt as good. Dive safe everyone - I apologise in advance as i will not be competing. Goodluck to everyone!! |

The Newhaven Boat Competition scheduled for this Sunday will be called OFF. The conditions look significantly worse than last week, with 5-6 foot of swell and a mild-strong South-Westerly wind. We will aim to hold the competition next weekend providing the weather is in our favour. Thank you all for your patience. |
