Nope Sat is not a typo. Committee have the flexibility to choose the sat over the sun if they believe the conditions will be better. Most sites predict less swell and wind on the sat.

We do try our best to have comps on Sunday's (as per calendar) but it all comes down to simply which we think will be the better day and also the safest.
Going on previous years (cough last year), where we have missed too many comps due to non-favourable weather, it's imperative to try and run any comp when we have a window of opportunity to do so.

I know it's frustrating and it is for us as well where in the last 5 weeks, we have had 4 scheduled spare weekends opportunities to hold comps (that's 8 days) but the weather gods have not played ball. Resulting in our club season being behind on a competition.

Fingers crossed in the future we have better weather on weekends especially sundays 8)

Geoff

Hi All,

It was a good comp on Saturday with 13 divers signing on.
The swell and wind was low making it a very comfortable dive.
Some notable fish weighed in, including a 420gm KGW (geoff), an 1190gm bearded rock cod (fitzy), 595gm squid (kiwi), 455gm flatty (steven) and i was happy with my 1165gm zeb.

Joseph was kind enough to put on a bbq for us and everyone was well fed.
Thank you Joseph for the bbq and please thank your wife for the home made hamburger patties.

The results of the comp are in!

Alan F (7 fish) 100
Scott Walker (7 fish) 96.73
Paul D (6 fish) 85.47
Geoff Gannon (6 fish) 84.43
Peter T (6 fish) 83.21
Stoj P (5 fish) 68.36
Joel P (4 fish) 57.71
Scott Kelly (4 fish) 55.16
Jeff Feng (4 fish) 54.59
Keith K (3 fish) 40.62
Kim A (2 fish) 27.07
Steven X (2 fish) 26.89 DSQ (rule 41)

With 2 comps completed, there are still 6 to go.
Hope to see you all at the next comp!
