Comp No 10. Bellarine Peninsula Boat Comp is called ON this Sunday 27th May. This is an extra comp that we are running due not getting in our 3rd Boat comp in and also due to the fact that we got through our comp season early. It is non aggregate due to the fact that we have completed our 8 aggregate comps for the season. It is open to all current AUF/USFA members and scoring will be run as per SFD scoresheet. Great for those wanting to do a social dive or even better practice for those heading to Eden in a couple of weeks. Competitors start at Queenscliff boat ramp and can either dive from boat or shore. As per map below Divers would only be able to fish the left side of the line. Competitors must adhere to all Victorian fishing regulations and all Marine parks/sanctuaries are out of bounds. Sundays comp was a small turnout which meant more fish for those that turned up. And yes it was very fishy with flat conditions on the ocean side with most areas offering between 7-15m+ Vis. The day started of a bit late at 9:25 due to me sucking a whole of grass into my jet ski at the boat ramp. But after a cleanout under my trailer, we headed out with no further hinderances. Thanks to Bob and Jozef who kindly waited around to make sure we could head out. Most places we stopped were fishy with lots of sweep, zebs, and other reefies on the menu. Bob continued his winning form with another win with 10 species. Richie was awarded fish of the day with his first whiting. Bob Manning 10 species 1113.15pts 100% Richie Surjan 7 species 779.25pts 70% Geoff Gannon 6 species 652.8pts 58.64% Jozef Bednarek 5 species 545.95pts 49.05% Scott McRae DNW (Shoredive) Some of the better fish: 440g KGW Richie 710g Pinkie Bob 1145g Trumpeter Bob 1325g Six Spine LJ Geoff 1265g Six Spine LJ Richie Thanks to those that participated and thanks to Jozef’s wife Margaret for making the burgers.
