2019 Victorian State Titles

Hi All,

Southern Freedivers will be running the Victorian State spearfishing championships next weekend 9th 10th February on based out of Apollo Bay.

This is a 2 day shore based competition.

Refer to the images for the Info Pack.

Note: Day 1 will count towards the SFD aggregate.

We should be able to get an idea whether this comp will run or not by next Tuesday however the final call will be made on Thursday evening and will be posted on the SFD Forum and FB pages.

For divers entering the comp, a seasonal entry form is required (unless completed for earlier 18/19 competitions)

Entry fee for this one is $20 per day for adults and $10 per day for juniors.

Unfortunately this weekends State Titles will be postponed due to bad weather. We will endeavour to run this competition NEXT WEEKEND! So stay posted.

Victorian State Titles has been called ON for this weekend (16th 17th).

Day 1 (aggregate) will be held at Peterborough. Starting line will be in the car park at the end of Irving street (see attached map). Meet at 7:30am

Day 2 location is yet to be confirmed

Most divers will be staying at the Skenes Creek Hotel. They can accomodate to almost anyone. Mention you’re with Southern Freedivers and you’ll be looked after. Give Joyce a call on 0417530874

Don’t forget safety gear! See you all Saturday

Hi All, See below for some photos from the Victorian State Titles over the weekend. A big thanks to Richard Just for taking all the photos. Richard recorded at the 1979 Victorian State Titles and has done so again this year for the 40th Anniversary and has a video in the works. After due consideration Southern Freedivers as convenor for the 2019 state spearfishing titles and the western districts spearfishing title, in accordance with our competition rules(that both competitions were run under) have disqualified Mr Torelli in both instances. The matter is now closed, southern Freedivers will amend the published results to that effect.
