Hi All,

We will be planning to run the 4th Bluefin Battle this weekend out of Port Fairy.

This is a 1 day pairs comp and will start and finish at the Port Fairy boat ramp.
There will be a weigh in and BBQ afterwards where the winning pair will be announced.

There is a major prize of $500 cash and that will be awarded to Bluefin Battle Pairs Champions.
There is also a prize of $150 cash that will go to the Bluefin Battle Heaviest Fish Champion.

See below for the info pack and entry forms. Please read over the info pack to ensure you are across the rules and details.

For those that haven't targeted Southern Bluefin Tuna before, bigger spearguns (i.e. bluewater guns) are ideal, but the same gear used for kingfish can be used. Reel guns or tethered guns with long floatlines are ideal used with 1 or 2 floats on the other end. If using reel guns, please ensure you are familliar with using them and the danger in regards to getting tangled up.

As with all our comps, the final call will be made on Thursday when the updated forecast is released. This includes the day chosen to run the comp.

All entry forms and payments to be submitted by Friday 15th at 5pm.
The email address for entries is committee@southernfreedivers.org.au (please ensure you check the spelling.....Jarvis  )
No late entries will be accepted.

If you haven't already done so, please sign up to the AUF and select Southern Freedivers as your club.

Hi All,

The Bluefin Battle is called ON for this coming Sunday 17th at Port Fairy.

We will meet at the PORT FAIRY Boat Ramp at 7am, as per the map below.

Due to winds forecasted to pick up in the afternoon, we will start the competition 1 hour earlier than originally planned.
This means that we will all meet up at 7am and the cut-off for sign on for the day is 7:30am.
The competition will commence at 8am and finish at 2pm.

This will also allow enough time for people to drive back to Melbourne if needed.

Registration forms and payment must be submitted via email by 5pm tomorrow (Friday 15th).

If you haven't already done so, you will need to sign up to the AUF and you can select "Southern Freedivers" as the club.
Select the 6 month option, as all memberships expire at the end of June.

Please ensure you have read the info pack for all the details.

There have been multiple large schools sighted and the locations of these will be revealed to all attending on the morning of the comp.

Look forward to seeing you all there!
