We held our 3rd aggregate comp at YCW beach on Sunday. Throughout the week the forecast looked promising with Sunday having low swell and a light westerly wind.
Well... the forecast was a bit wrong. The swell hadn’t quite dropped from the previous day and from the lookout it was clear it would be a bumpy day with less than ideal vis.

15 divers turned up of which 10 signed on, the others decided it wouldn’t be fun. Most divers timed their entries between sets and managed to get out unscathed others weren’t so lucky. Thankfully no one was injured and no gear was lost, although some broken.

Once out we were met with 2-4m vis and fishless seas. Nearly everyone was out within 2 hours having decided it wasn’t worth it. 2 divers stuck it out to 5 hours.

Heading towards pyramid rock proved fruitful, once in the protected waters visibility increased to 15m! As forecasted, conditions improved after lunch. Only 4 divers ended up weighing in fish.

Big thanks to Tim and Stoj for doing the weigh in and for those that stuck around afterThanks to Russel for cooking the bbq. Good chats were had by all

The final scores are as follows:

Kim Adair - 7 species 782.7 pts 100%
Stoj Pavlovski - 2 species 229.5 pts 29.32%
Tim Fitzpatrick - 2 species 211.9 pts 27.07%
Angus Burns - DNS
Andrew Vibert - DNS
Brett Illingworth - DNS
