Western districts day 2 was held at Killarney Beach. The swell was much lower than yesterday which allowed divers to swim beyond the breakers. The current was raging through the main channel which unfortunately reduced visibility to around 3m. Clearer water was found further into the ponds and around the outside. Fish reports varied with the morning being the most productive and low tide being the least. Dave ended up winning the day with a great catch of 12 species including a 512g red mullet. Scott Kelly took our heaviest whiting with a nice 705g model. Kade Beckley took out the junior category with his catch on the second presenting the only leather jacket to weigh in for both days. The high seas and strong current combined with 39 degree heat made for a tiring day which made the pub feed all the better. Day 2 results are: Dave scholefield 12 fish 1377.2pts Kim Adair 9 fish 1045pts Rob Torelli 8 fish 871.02pts Blake Riddle 7 fish 778.3pts Scott Kelly 5 fish 588.87pts Stoj Pavlovski 3 fish 348.7pts Kade Beckley 2 fish 257.3pts Kurt Beckley 2 fish 229.62 Marcus Dorfstatter 2 fish 220.38pts James Conahan 1 fish 110.48pts Dakoyta Davis DNS Paul Dorfstatter DNS Which means the final results for the 2 days are.... Dave scholefield 2274.52pts Rob Torelli 2159.62pts Kim Adair 1742.36pts Blake Riddle 1304.6pts Scott Kelly 588.87pts Stoj Pavlovski 454.56pts Scott Walker 342.04pts James Conahan 329.18 Marcus Dorfstatter 326pts Kade Beckley 257.3pts Kurt Beckley 229.62 Rob Smizer 111.9 Dakoyta Davis 105 Paul Dorfstatter DNS Glenn Simmons DNS Big shoutout to Peter and Tanya Riddle for organising food and the weigh in.
