Due to the unfavourable conditions this weekend the Sorrento boat comp will be postponed. As discussed last meeting we’re going to trial having a free weekend after each comp and in the event the comp is postponed it’ll be held too weeks after it’s original scheduled date. So Sorrento boat comp will be held next fortnight. Final call will be made the Thursday prior.

Sorrento Boat comp has been called ON for Sunday 28/11. Please be at Sorrento boat ramp and signed on by 8:30 with completed entry form and $15 entry fee. You must be an AUF member to enter the comp and joined up to Southern Freedivers to have you scores put towards the club aggregate.
Hope to see you all there

We had our first comp of the year on Sunday, Sorrento boat comp. The conditions leading up we somewhat terrible which means we can be very greatful to have revived a small but workable break in the wind. It was a rough start with boats going in every direction, some went out the heads but most stayed in the bay. Those who braved the 20kt easterlies and headed outside were greeted with patchy vis ranging from 0-20m. Finding fish and bus in the bay was somewhat of a difficult task.
Some quality fish were weighed in including a 1025g flattie from Brendon, 1955g Trump from Bob and a 1705g Zebra fish also from Brendon.
Although it was a hard day on the water everyone was smiles back at the ramp, weather that was from knowing they had a winning catch or from finally getting a dive in.
Big thanks to everyone who helped out on the day and to Brendon for writing the scores.
And the final results are…

Bob Manning 12 species 1362.8pts 100%
Kim Adair 11 species 1239.95pts 90.99%
Spencer Gubbins 10 species 1088.2pts 79.85%
Jarvis Espie 9 species 1000.85pts 73.44%
Scott Kelly 8 species 859.45pts 63.07%
Odie Charles 6 species 636.8pts 46.73%
Kade Beckley 5 species 569.25 41.77%
Kurt Beckley 4 species 460.05 33.76%
Brendon Waller 3 species 336.5 26.78%

Thank you to everyone that attended. I look forward to seeing you all next time

-Kim
