Hey guys , is anyone on here into lbsf at all ????.

or does anyone have any shark sightings within 400m of shore that they would like to share the location with me.

during December 08 they showed a 3m bronzie within 30m from the shore at beaumaris life saving club.

we fished at Parkdale, kayaked out whole stingray baits and within 20min had the first of five runs for the night.that was at 830pm while the sun was still up.
no shark landed that night.

That really isn't the sort of thing we want people to associate spearfishing with? I mean think about it, you are in their environment, I realise you want to do it for sport and will be using a rod and reel, and well hey that's all good, but writing that comment on a spearing forum isn't winning votes for less marine parks now is it? I haven't had a big shark encounter so I don't really know what if felt like greg but I can only assume it was pretty shit scary. If you don't want to be harassed by sharks don't get in the water, that or buy a shark shield.

I know that comment isn't very PC and I never would have said that until a few months ago. I'm still not fully over the one that tried to make me a statistic. They scare the shit out of me these days.

Greg, I wasn't having a go at you specifically, just more the comment, I can fully understand that you'd be very weary when diving now, and I guess it's only a matter of time before I and a lot of divers have an encounter. I guess the biggest thing to remember is to expect anything, and I guess as long as it's not a white, you should hopefully be able to show it your the boss even though ure going to need a new wetsuit due to the recent shit stains that just arrived. I've read heaps about diving with sharks, and as much as I've read I'm pretty sure I'm still gonna be crapping my pants when I encounter one, especially in dirty water. Remember it's not the shark you can see that you should be worried about, it's the one you can't.
