My wetsuit just doesn't dry properly, not matter how long i hang it for...

I keep it over a clothes horse, but the inside never dries. Whats a good way to dry it? Was thinking putting a hook over the bath and hanging it up on a coat hanger...

Hang it inside out on a coat hanger over night, if it's opencell it should dry over night then turn the right way round and leave untill dry. Or you coucld hang it over a central heating vent the right way round if you have em, and it should dry over night.

you have to dry both sides of the wetty mate, i normally do a day each side near a heater

LOL ... Mine hangs in the shed in the right way then inside out, they stink when you dont hang them inside out ...

definatly turn it inside out mate,and put some dettol is some water and wash your suit in that.

Why bother with dettol? Those lovely bodily oils allow open cells to slip on with no lubricant, and you could say the smell has a charm of its own.

i always use to get rashes and that on my legs after diving,found out from lethal that its a form of staf. all came down to me not drying the suit out properly. the dettol helped stop that to

I take it one step further and put Avagard or Microshield in my lube mix. That's the handwash stuff that they use in hospitals to control staph. You come out smelling clean enough to do surgery.

Avagard works great, leaves you smelling hospital fresh as well!

I'd be careful where u get Avagard, I'm a nurse and i'm pretty sure (correct me if i'm wrong will look tomorrow @ work) its a hands only thing . . . And cant be real good for your skin.

Random, not sure where you work but in hospitals they make staff use Avaguard between patients. Nurses can be rubbing it into there hands every few minutes with no ill effect.

Yeah onto the hands is all good (been using it and similar brands for years, have worked from Causality to Nursing homes) i was just thinking of the sensitive bits of your body ie, face, genitals ...

Ill grab a bottle tomorrow and have a read, but if it hasn't affected you as yet i'd say it is all sweet especially how your using it watered down ...

For those nurses in the know, is Hexol close enough to Avaguard?
Hexol is an alcohol based antiseptic lotion

To rinse your suit just wash it as you usually would but add some vinegar, it will do the same thing & it's a lot more natural. But as for hospital supplies well, we have discovered the best donning solution around, 3m avagard General hand and body wash WITH Moisturizer and emollient. Mixed up with some water makes your wetty slip on easier then a condom.

I suppose you could use the avagard surgical hand scrub too, but I'd be a bit concerned with having the active chem all over yourself everytime you dive....
