Hi guys,
I live in richmond and there is a 50m pool that they are happy for us to freedive train in.

Anyone interested? I would probably want to do 1 session per week after work, maybe thursdays...

I could probably manage that as I no longer have waterpolo on thursdays. Ideally I would like to car pool as Richmond is a bit of a drive and I don't really want to be taking wet dive gear on the train...

If it is a club only thing, I am still trying to get my act together and get along to a meeting to do the paperwork and so forth. For some reason things seem to keep coming up on meeting night...

Because it's dangerous to load a gun out of water many people take them to the local baths to practice long shots on toddlers. You can also practice dispatching fish by slashing there floaties.

i mean how would you train, surely they would not ley you shoot a speargun in the pool!
and the deepest pool i know of is Melbourne Olympic and that's only 5m

Just the usual warning guys, if you do this, please don't do it alone, make sure someone on the surface has 100% of their attention on the person doing the exercise, don't push it, let the life guards know what you are doing.

I've heard that public pools wont allow people to practice a static breath hold. I would ask before you try it... no one wants an eager male lifeguard pullin a cheeky mouth to mouth for no reason!

Ok guys,
I have spoken to the pool and explained that we will be doing both static and dynamic apnea training. They are fine with this as long as we follow basic safety protocol which we will discuss at the start of each session.

We are able to book an outside lane for our use only between 7pm-8pm on Thursdays starting on the 27th of August.

The indoor 50m pool is located in the Richmond Leisure Center (Gleadell St, Richmond).
