Hey guys im due to buy some new rubbers and i have a few questions i need to ask.

ive been spearing a few whiting recently and ive been getting frustrated with how many im not hitting because they move away before my spear reaches them.
ive got a 110cm aesgai speargun and i was thinking about putting a 21mm rubber on or 2 16 or 19mm rubbers would the locking mechanism be able to handle this and what is the best choice?

Mech will hold all those rubber choices, however I definately wouldn't go bigger than 19mm rubber. Could go to a 7mm pranger spear for whiting but you will lose range..

Whiting are a hard fish that will test the best of breath holds but you will find if you stay on the bottom long enough and quiet enough they will present an easy shot in most cases. But don't push your limits too hard.

If it's just for whiting and PPB stuff and reefies go with a thinner spear rather than bigger rubber or learn how to get closer.

6mm spear with 19mm rubbers? Jeez, probably whipping lol. Replace the 19mm rubbers with new ones, and put a 6.5mm spear on it, that is a good set up and you can easily shoot whiting with it. If you still can't obviously you need to change something. "pool training" aye? I know many, many people who shoot whiting who do not do any special training.

Probably whipping- mate with a 6mm and 19mm combo you have more chance of knocking a whiting out as the spear wobbles into it than you have of getting a point in. If your already using a thin spear go with single tight 16mm.

Mate if he sold you the gun it'll be set up right if you haven't changed anything. Whiting just suck sometimes!

Get closer and trust your set up, alot of missing comes from thinking too much about one or two bad shots. I'm a shocker for it, miss one easy shot then start aiming high or low thinking you'll fix the problem when there really isn't one.

You'll need a thicker shaft too if you do.
