That dodgy photo shop looks ok!
Andrew, the sign part of the page can't be changed. Its been designed to the Australian Standard (or some standard).

New one looks ok but you are going to need to keep the final size in mind for the text, I'm presuming it's going to be ~A5 so that text might be a bit small to read at a glance esp on that background Maybe as mentioned trim the text back to basics. I thinks 'knots' should be written in full too for clarity.

If someone has a suggested piece of text suitable for the ad feel free to post it. Koops, Kurt and I have done plenty on the ad so others are welcome to contribute.

E.g Snorklers and spearfishers spend the majority of the time on the surface... ect... Please boat with care...

Wow what an underwheming response for such an important topic. We will run with what we already have.

Kurt please photoshop the flag and send to Koops with text.

This may be too late, but I would propose something along these lines (much is just copied from the original). I have bolded a couple of bits that I think should be added;

The blue and white alpha flag is flown to show that there is a diver or snorkeler in the immediate area. Alpha flags may be displayed either from a float towed by or anchored near to a diver, or prominently displayed from a vessel. Divers or snorkelers may be submerged or on the surface, they may or may not be clearly visible. All vessels are required to slow to 5 knots and be alert when passing within 100m of any alpha flag. Collision with boats failing to adhere to these rules is one of the leading causes of death and serious injury for divers and snorkelers.

Perhaps there should also be something about the relevant penalties for ignoring flags even if they are never enforced...

The artwork was sent in today.
A huge thanks to Kurt for all his work on this, to Leigh for his help along the way, and the Rec Fishing Grants program for funding it. Thanks also for comments made on this forum, and by Marc Ainsworth and Chris Padovani from Fisheries Victoria for support and comments.
300,000 copies of this guide will be made and distributed throughout the State. Most people who read this will be non-divers, and they are the ones who need to see it the most.
