Gents,
Please do a search on the forums first before posting/publicising/showing off/or merely being really stupid by posting pics of speared dead fish and then asking "what fish is this".

There is a section on this forum dedicated solely to identifying common Victorian fish....coincidently titled "Common Victorian Fish" for the love of God...please use it. Alternatively use the PM function to privately send a moderator/admin an ID request.

Peace.

i have been a land base fisherman for long time since i was a kid. Yes i totally agree with you ' please do home work before spearing the fish without knowing what the fish species. if unknown fish id just leave it alone memorise or take picture/video study. everytime i see a spearo post a pic asking what fish is this? made me disheartened n disappointed seeing the post. not just this forum. Almost all forums/blogs/group across the web.

Its not the same as plants that you can snip branch off or snip leaf off n cross reference the id. its not the same as reptiles that can easily be captured then id the released. Being a spearo is a greater responsibility as much as the same as hunter shooting ducks/ animals id first before shooting. its one shot kill. those dead aint coming back to be released.
