Hi Sawshelled, can you forward score sheet? What reefs do you propose? Are there boat rides for interstaters?
Regards, Paul

Attached is the score sheet with target species and weights along with the comp rules. If you are going to come up let me know and I will organise boat space.

It is planned to be a reef comp (weather permitting) and the skippers would be running out to Fitzroy, Boult and Lamont reefs most likely. If the weather comes in then it will be mostly inshore at Pancake, outer rocks etc and the local area wrecks.

Sorry about the short notice, we were delayed in getting dates of availablility so it didn't clash with other AUF events.

cheers
Duncan

I like the way that score sheet works, I'd happily dive comps like that. I believe that competitions like this are the way of the future, well done to all involved.

Hey Lou

I have spoken to our spear captain and there will be a spot for both you and your brother (Mick) in a boat. We cannot guarantee where the boat will work as that is up to the skipper. It may be inshore along the creeks and pancake area, it may be offshore at the reefs. That will be pot luck with the placements.

You will need to email your application form to our spear captain (David) asap so that he can have you placed towards the top of the need a boat place list. Application form and David's email is in the first posting above.

Cheers
Duncan

Lou, both you and your brother will need to be AUF registered members to compete in the comp. You can register online at the AUF website and bring the reciept along with you to the comp.
Cheers
Duncan

Lou,

David received some more information about this; unfortunately we can't receipt money on the day. Sorry but it will have to be done before the day.

Below is an address for a snail mail membership:

http://www.auf.com.au/PDF%20Files/NEW%2 ... sports.pdf

I'm assuming you have been a member before, if you fill out the new member section on the AUF website it will just reject you because you’re already on the database so you’ll have to request a password from AUF to renew your membership.

Sorry for the inconvenience, we were under the impression we would be able to deal with this too.

Cheers,

Duncan

Hey guys, the comp was finally run after being weather postponed. Unfortunately that resulted in a reduced number competing as some could no longer make it. Had 17 competitiors from accross southern and central QLD. Some yummy fish captured including 30kg Spanish Mackeral, 9kg Blackspot Tuskfish, 6kg Coral Trout, 3kg Fingermark etc.

The motor on one boat blew up out at Lamont Reef and had to be towed all the way back in. No-one was hurt and all got back safely which is great. The 3pm weigh in ended up being at 8.30pm. Made for a long day as we all headed out at 5am.

We will let you all know well in advance when next years comp is coming up.

Cheers
Duncan and Claire
