i'm still learning, and kinda understand the need of a dive buddy now for free diving, wasnt really diving down heaps down as got a weightbelt recently.

anywayz my eye felt like it was going to pop, and when i was heading out of the water, i saw blood in my goggles from my nose
anyone experience this. could be the heat, but i'd be guessing from diving- pressure or something

Never heard of that happening before. If it was me I'd be getting the all clear from a doctor before I dived again.

Do you equalise your ears when diving down?

Seeing a doctor is probably a bit drastic. Don't dive when you have a cold or hayfever or anything else that blocks you up. Give your sinus' a week to heal and you should be fine. When I was a smoker I used to get a bit of blood in some snot in the bottom of my mask quite often.
I'm probably going to kick myself for saying this but PM me your number and I'll take you out for a bay dive one day after work in the next week or so but you must have your own flag and float. Until then try not to kill yourself.

Hey Youakija

You may be equalizing to hard, with to much force?? Don't dive for a week or so and as Greg said never dive if you have sinus issues!! Also if your eye feels like it is going to pop I would not be diving at all, that is not normal.. Diving should be pain free..

It is always safer to dive with a buddy who is watching you, especially if your just starting to dive deeper. I would not do it without a buddy.
Cheers

Sound's like you've got blocked sinuses which was preventing your mask from equalizing causing the eye pain and probably the blood too. Seen it happen a fair bit, I'd agree and say the doctor's is overkill but if you'd pushed any harder you could've caused some real damage. Wait until your sinuses are clear before trying again and I'd definately take Greg up on his offer. It could be something very simple that your doing wrong but haven't been shown any different, remember your sinuses play a huge part in wether you can dive or not so don't muck around with them. Also heard plenty of stories of blokes getting stuck out of the water for several months because thay pushed too hard!

you keep on ignoring advices and risk putting yourself in danger of serious damage/injury
A few on this forum have already advised you many times of the benefits of attending meetings and hook up a dive with someone with a bit more experience
Also use the search function on the forum where you'd find useful posts like for example this one from South which is possibly linked to what might be your problem

http://www.southernfreedivers.org.au/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=583&p=12868&hilit=barotrauma#p12868

just highlights the serious repercussions of what might appear a minor issue

Sounds like to me that he doesn't even equalize...

If this is the case mate you need to learn what equalizing is, what it means and how to do it correctly ...........

nice to see the input, greatful for it.

after reading that, and maybe reading stuff on the net
pretty sure its forceful equalisation, even today do feel a little off and dizzy, hope this passes
gotta learn to equalise before the pain i think

ligure
step 11 says seek medical attention- saw a doctor, pretty sure i mentioned the ear, mentioned the blood, got an xray. but all he gave me was a prescription something for the nose
might see another doctor and research it as well

If your having trouble equalizing try taking some diflam or equivalent a few hours before a dive, as it breaks down Mucas which can build up in a tube that connects the inner ear with the mouth as I understand it (someone might be able to explain better). I had trubbles with equalizing, saw a doctor and this is just what he told me.
Cheers Stephen.

OK!!! Enough is enough!

Don't take any drugs before diving. Get to a doctor and if your not happy with the advise go to another one.

You need to learn a shit load about diving obviously. Please find someone of knowlege and ask lots of questions.

Please don't put all your faith in the info on this forum. A lot of it is bullshit and no one should give medical advise unless trained and qualified. Especially over the Net. Thanks.

Sorry should also have explained take these the night before a dive, and that every one is different so seek advice from a doctor and ask if this is safe for your individual use.
Stephen :D
