Usually run over 2 days with 1 day counting for club championship. Mornington Peninsula.

It's that time allready!!! Been looking forward to it!!

I'm excited also for my first multi specie comp. How would this comp work? Shore dive and boats or just shore divers? Do we all start at one place then go where ever we want from along peninsula? Might have to start thinking where would be good and do some recon.

Its etiquette in comps not to dive the comp area the week before the comp, and in some clubs the rules. Seems it’s not so much of the case in Southern Freedivers though. I think it will depend on the location as to boats or not but last year was shore based. Its and independent comp but it’s a good idea if you have someone that you dive with regularly and know they wont poach your fish to stick together for safety.

Comp days should be Saturday and Sunday. (If weather is bad then we may use Monday. Comps will be in the usual format. 9.00 am comp start then 6 hour comp with sign off at 3.00pm. Comps will be shore based ( Not boat comps).Comp locations will be selected closer to the weekend depending on the conditions forecast.If conditions are suitable then its Mornington Peninsula based. Comps are usually called on the Thursday before.More info as it gets closer.

No spearing fish in comp zones 24 hrs before.

Is there a place where everyone books in together like phillip island last year or like the KFC everyone booked into the fish creek pub? Id just want to book soonish seeing as its only 3 weeks away!

Most of us drive to and from home for this one Claire, but I'm sure acouple of boys will stay the night some where

mornington peninsular... is this a back beach? wouldnt be the bay side would it

Weather depends on dive locations! But should be a back beach!

Its a bit early in the week for a prediction. Maybe Kooya Sat and The schank sunday. Discussion at the meeting . Decision will not be made till thurs or fri.

With the help of others the call on this comp will be made tomorrow during the day ( Friday). Differing forecasts make it difficult so best to leave it till as late as poss.
