Originally posted by Brett. A good, hard fought comp in reasonably trying conditions. From the surf entry, to the limited visibility, to the slight to moderate surge, this was an energy sapping day. Visibility varied from 2-10 metres, and definitely improved the further one swam toward Pyramid Rock. Varied fishlife was difficult to locate and the critters appeared to have great knowledge when it came to the range of the various weaponry levelled against them. Many made the long swim to clearer waters closer to the Rock. Many regretted this decision when it came time to put in the hard yards to get back to the weigh-in area on time. A few had close encounters with annoying pest Seven Gilled Sharks. Many were heard, later, to utter the classic- "coulda, shoulda, woulda, didn't!" Sam D and Dave S from South Oz joined us and proved their mettle by finishing high in the ranks. Thanks for coming. Alan F would have been in the top 3 had he have made it back in time! Rhino didn't make it back at all and was picked up walking along Pyramid Rock Rd. Special thanks to Paul C for organising and preparing the BBQ and drinks. Thanks also to Andrew V, Russell P and Claire H for conducting the weigh-in. All in all a great day made even better by the glorious sunshine.
