Gday lads

Yesterday marked the start of the 2012 / 2013 Victorian Challenge. This is a prestigious selective spearfishing competition which SFD club members hold in high regard as it targets 10 of Victorian's premium species.

All rules and details regarding the VC can be found on the link on the SFD homepage. Please remember - you must be a paid up SFD club member to enter fish, fish can only be weighed at specified locations and fish application forms must be submitted within 30 days of capture. Also, it is the competitors responsibility to submit their fish - don't expect weigh masters to submit fish species for you.

Application forms are to be submitted through the forum by attaching them to a PM to 'VictorianChallenge,' (this is the preferred method) and as always forms can be submitted at club meetings. (application form attached)

no VC entries for the month. Probably a combination of shit weather and too many Christmas parties resulting in way too many hangovers. Leaderboard remains as above!!

Had a call today from a member of the Thorpdale Angling Club - the club is based out east of the state in the Latrobe Valley, down Traralgon way. They fish places like Walkerville and the Prom regularly. He watches the forum and kindly offered the use of the clubs scales if anyone wants to weigh in Vic Challenge fish. The scales are digital and certified.

If anyone wants to take this offer up send me a pm and I will pass on his details. Lethal, I thought you could be a chance being down that way these days?? Let me know.

See attached the 2012 / 2013 Victorian Challenge Leaderboard as of today.

She's tight at the top! 1 point separating Rob & Murray with a couple of months left. Both divers have submitted 8 species, leaving 2 to get. It could all come down to who lands the best aussie salmon! Maybe who can upgrade the best??

Lets hope April really turns it on and we see some premium conditions.

Victorian Challenge leaderboard as of today. Apologies for not getting it up before this weeks meeting.

With less than a month to go Rob will be very hard to catch.

Remember that every fish entered gets you a ticket into the draw for a quality prize on preso night. Past prizes have been wetsuits, spearguns, heavy duty floats etc. Use the last of the good weather through May to enter some quality fish.
