Gday all, here are a couple of boars we got yesterday after work. Black boar was over 100kg, a first! I shot if from about 80m, straight in the brain, down and out. The hooks look great will show you pics when finished.
Have a cold one for me.
Cheers
oZ.

After a bit of a boil, chop and clean, they are ready for mounting. The width from point to point is 15cm and the tusks are 6cm long. I dont know if thats a good set/size but they are sharp as a knife and look fucking awsom 8) .

In the photo it looks like you may have you cut the tusks in half (i could be wrong). Next time boil the jaw till you can remove the tusks from the jaw. Normally 2/3rds of the tusk is actually in the jaw. They still look good.

yeh, a mate was mounting this section of jaw to a pollished bit of wood, looked nice. He tried to pull the tusks out to make them look longer but they just looked tacky and wrong. These tusks are still firm in the jaw. There is at least 2 inches of tusk left in the jaw!

Oz you're just a born hunter gatherer hey!

Every time I think of boar hunting though I picture a man with a shotgun, axe strapped to his leg and two hunting dogs lol

didn't know people shot them with rifles tbh.. do you have any videos of it?
