5th SFD comp for the 2013/14 season – Western Districts.

Sunday 25th/26th January 2014 08:00

Exact location and day to be announced; usually somewhere within the Port Fairy area. This two day competition is nominated for 25th/26th January 2014, however it may be postponed due to weather conditions. The 'Competition Committee' will post the decision on the Thursday prior in the 'Competitions' thread on the SFD forum. All members and AUF welcome. Once again keep an eye on the 'Competitions' thread on the forum for the time, location or any changes from the 'Competition Committee'.

It is advised that EVERYONE read the SFD competition RULES.

Competitors must bring with them their COMPLETED Competition Entry Form and correct money $10.

This is a VLBA competition; Victorian Land Based Aggregate.

Why is it $10 entry fee when SWC have it on there face book page $30 entry fee

I think the $10 is a mistake. It's been $30 for the last decade but in the last few there's been special one day rates. Depends on the convenor of the day.

It's not the convenors call on entry costs. Havnt payed more than $20 for both day so it's been a bit longer than acouple of years ago.

Comp is now run by SCS so its up to them. First day still counts towards our club aggregate.
Dont forget that its part of selections for the State team for next years Nationals .
If you want to be part of the Nationals team best get down to this comp.
Sorry I wont get down for this . (Family weekend at Rye).

Hi Andrew, What is the selection process/criteria for the Nationals. I know it is the scores from the Western districts and the state titles but is it just our club aggregate day or both days?

The VSC and the state captain will make selections based on how divers score in those 2 comps. Thats why these comps are not just SFD comps. I suspect that the team can actually be selected from any AUF registered divers in Vic.

So which score sheet will be used if they are running the comp?

no-one has a clue Murray..............ask the Westy President...he may have a clue...but I doubt it.!!!!

There should be more info about this comp available from Shipwreck coast spearfishing after their meeting wed night. I believe Peter Riddle will be convenor.
