Ok so my last flasher I made was a bit of a flop....

Back to the drawing board I got a little more serious.

It all clips together so I can change the length or sequences of the flashers/lures. Its only pictured with two of the flashers here.

I picked up three of the the 20cm spinning flasher from OBD - link -
http://www.spearfishingproducts.com.au/ ... en-stripe/

Then I snagged a good deal on ebay for three 27cm skirted lures - link -
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-PELAGIC-CU ... 4d243e0587

Then I found this on ebay as well. 3mm Mirrored Acrylic which I cut and glued together. (Torelli Bling Berry Style)
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261337352852 ... 1497.l2649

The lures I picked up for about $20 bucks delivered, the Spinners for $50, and the mirror for $6. The mono and wire traces I had in the tackle box. TOTAL $76. So all in all its not the cheapest, but defiantly more satisfying to make your own.

Send me a link, Give me instructions? Whatever! Just after a good quality flasher without paying big bucks! Cheers.

Hey Riley, by the time you make something descent that can endure the torture of being thrown around on the rocks or boat deck, weight belt altercations etc you are better off buying one IMO. A purchased high density foam chicken/dog style float with stainless spinning flashers, double sided mirrored perspex (that flutter when you rip it), finished with a heavy weighted skirt at the bottom is the go IMO. Most come standard with high quality heavy rated terminals (swivels/split rings/crimps/wire) and high quality heavy rated low memory-low stretch mono. I like the chicken/dog style float as the rig rolls up neatly and can be attached to your float when not in use. I would however advise to upgrade the business end with heavy rated nylon coated multi strand stainless wire after seeing Kiwis get thieved by a seal at the Prom last year... with a trembler upgrade too! Most of us in the club have this style of rig and the customisations vary somewhat between us.

Just thought that I would add that its good to polish the stainless mirrors with a good quality metal polish like 'Metal Magic' for the first time, when I got my rig several years ago the stainless developed a little surface rust, I polished them with 'Metal Magic' and they have never rusted since. Cheers.
