Hi all.
This weekend Southern Freedivers will be running the Newhaven Boat comp.
Its a genuine boat comp so boats will start the comp at Newhaven (Phillip Island). There are plenty of dive locations for those that wish to Shore dive if you cannot organise a boat or boat ride.
Comp will start at 9.00 from the channel just off the front of the Newhaven ramp. Shore divers will be able to start slightly before from the ramp/jetty.
More details as the day gets closer. All club competitions are nominated for Sunday however the Saturday may be used due to weather conditions. The club will post the decision on the Thursday prior on the 'Competitions' thread on the forum. All members welcome. Once again keep an eye on the 'Competitions' thread on the forum for the time, location or any changes.

This weekends Newhaven Boat Comp is running on Sunday. Conditions should be good provided the wind does not swing and increase. Saturdays forecast showed a bit less wind but more swell so we have gone with Sunday.
Sunday the comp will start from the channel at the Newhaven boat ramp. Start time will be 9.00. (Slightly earlier for shore divers).Entries will close at 8.00.Be there early with your forms filled out and the correct money. ($15 senior and $5 for junior)
Forms /comp rules are available on the Southern freedivers forum ( Comp section) . No forms will be available at the start.

There will be a briefing prior to leaving the shore/jetty.
Make sure you have all the SFD required safety gear. It will be checked.
Any questions Forum or Andrew 0418577079

Another really great comp for the club with 19 divers taking to the water. There were plenty of fish around for those that new where to find them. Muzz finished with 19 species followed buy Drew with I think 16 then a group of 4 with 13. Conditions were superbly forecast by Muzz with vis at 10>12 m in most places. Final scores will go up when they are ready. Thanks all those that helped out with making it all happen.
I have to stop thinking that I am 21 again whenever I start a comp on the ski. Very sore for a couple of days.
Next comp is the state titles over the weekend 7,8,9 March.

Murray Petersen didn't take it, He owns it! 17 species is the best I've seen since the comp started until Muz turned up. I think he got 20 last year? and 19 this year- wow.
