Hey guys, sorry nothing hasn't been put up as yet.
Admin can you remove the other two topics please.

This seasons Sorrento Boat Comp is scheduled for Sunday the 11th Oct
As well as being the first boat comp it's also round one of the Hannan cup!
Boat competitions like our normal comps start and finish at the one place, but the part
That makes boat comps different is you can go where ever you like after the start time but obviously you must be back before the finish time to sign off so we don't have to send out a search party!!!
If you haven't already found yourself a boat ride it will be extremely difficult to find one now.

Boats that are competing must have a regulation Boat Dive Flag(alpha flag) and individuals must have their personal requirements ie: float, flag, knife, whistle, mirror, SIGN ON SHEET and correct money!

Once again we will not accept memberships on the day, AUF memberships must be paid before the comp!

The comp will be called on Thursday night by myself as spoken to by the Brown Mullet, or The Brown Mullet himself!

Watch this space guys and girls as it will have all the details regarding sign on times

Please all be at the ramp early and it may be busy. Sign on will close at 8.30 sharp. Please get in early with filled in forms and correct money. I will be doing sign on in the lower carpark. A briefing will be held the ramp/jetty at 8.40. Sign off will finish at 3.00 at the ramp/jetty. 1 representative from each boat can sign off all on that boat, individual divers must sign off themselves.
Brett will be checking each divers safety gear as per our rules.

I will have the food and drinks in my ute . If someone could pick the esky up from me and get it up to the BBQ /weigh in area to start cooking as soon as possible after the finish. (It takes me a while to get packed up after sign off.)
See you Sunday.

Great comp and super turn out!!!

Thanks to the following organisers :

Andrew V for organising the sign on BBQ meat and cold drinks
Jason H for signing everyone off
Murray P and Watto for convening the dive, weighing and scoring fish.
Leigh E for bringing the webber and starting the BBQ
All those who took turns and manned the BBQ while fish were being weighed, Russell, Alex, Blacky to name a few.
special mention to the bastard seagulls who helped themselves to the bread while we were all in the water

Thanks to everyone who took part in this comp and weighed or didnt weigh in fish (not that it matters) as long as you gave it a crack!

Fanastic Day, Sorrento boat comp is by far one of the best competitions in the Club calendar.

Thanks to all!

peace

nigz

Was a fun day and an awesome turn out!

I didn't realize that the Australia's next top spearo model comp was on the same day!
Turns out Watto and Nigz tied.... and have the photo with the winning pose on the Esclapez site.

Are those looks blue steel and magnum?

Great comp!
I can't take credit where it isn't due Nigz, I didn't do much with the bbq except put a few bits of rubbish in the bin. Thanks to all who showed up, competed, gave support and organised.

Yes it has to be one of our best comps. Great turn out with 32 signing on. Sign on went smoothly. Comp started on time, No problems with sign off (thanks Jason). It appeared that everyone had a good day even though it might have been better if more fish were about for some. Some fabulous fish were speared.
Its great to see so many enthusiastic and smiling faces even though conditions were not perfect for those diving from shore. As Nghia has already said thanks all who helped out on the day. See you all at the next meeting on Tuesday the 10th. Next comp is the Woolami anchored boat comp on the 15th. If we have a shortage of boats we may have to substitute another comp.
