hey would any one be able to tell me about some good spearfishing spots in torquay or close to. good if it had shore access and not to far away from torquay itself.
and help would be great.
thanks in advance,

Hello dutch,
I have not had a dive in torq for a long time, but I used to enjoy just the fishermans beach area. used to jump in near the boat ramp. there's some nice grass beds and rubble grounds. I have shot some nice Kg's there, plus the usual's.
Good chance you will see big schools of salmon there too. On a clear day you can see the weed/reef patches from shore.

If you have transport, Pt impossible is good, also breamlea/bancoora (when there is no surf)
And blackrock is a good dive. If you swim out about 500m you come to a wicked reef.

Is this the beach you're talking about?

http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&q= ... a=N&tab=wl

I just searched for fisherman's beach, but only found fishermans cottage...

Also, is Pt Impossible a surf beach? How would you spearfish there =/

hey mike
my dad lives in torquay and i go down there every second weekend, (so im sort of a local)
that beach that u thought was fishermans beach isnt the one tvolke is talking about. im pretty sure that spot hes talking about is opposite the park near the boat ramp.

http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&q= ... a=N&tab=wl

Pt Impossible can be a surf beach only when its really rough, ive never surfed there myself because theres generally no surf.

thanx for the help tvolke i will try fishermans beach this weekend

hhahahahah.

"Possoes" or Pt Impossible does cop swell from the SW. and it does get very dirty. you need no swell to dive this location!
