I entered this comp and it was my first comp and I really enjoyed the day. Great conditions where we went. I shot a few species that I'd never shot before and got to see some new areas which was great. Thanks Wallaby for the ride, it was much appreciated. Joe, your enthusiasm for spearing fish is infectious! I really enjoyed the bbq in the park afterwards as I was pretty hungry and tired so thanks for putting that on too. Pretty amazing to see some of the species being put on the scales at the weigh in too.

I think you need to re-calculate Watto, you've accidentally put Nigz up near the top?

Congrats to everyone one the list, few names on there becoming regular contenders!

Oh and congrats Nigz, nice work!

It was a great format for a comp and a great comp .The weather played ball and we all had a great dive. Thanks Muzz for raising the idea in the first place. I know there were plenty run like this in the past.I hope that everyone was able to get a ride that wanted one. There were no shore divers in this one but many of the areas dived by boat could have been accessed by land easily. Some great catches by Murray and Rob when you consider that Murray had 18 with a squid that did not weigh no flathead, flounder, King and maybe a couple of others . It could easily have been 22 or 23 species. Takes you back to the good old days (Hang on these are still great days). There were a few small time related issues for a couple of boats on the day but this did not really detract too much from the great dive. Already looking towards the next already.

By the way I have a great Zodiac RIB for sale . Andrew 0418577079

Thanks for putting the results up Watto and congratulations to the winners and all the other competitors who I'm sure had a fantastic time making the most of the great conditions we had.

Hi Everyone, sorry for being off the internet radar for a while... Here are the results from the 8th and final SFD competition for the 2012/13 season; 'The NEWHAVEN BOAT COMPETITION'. Fantastic day, great weather with fifteen divers signing on, five boats and one jet ski for a six hour comp. I believe the format and concept of this comp was a huge success and I hope that it continues into the future as an event that everyone will look forward to. Apart from a variety of serious 'Club Competition Rules' breaches on the day, it was a very enjoyable day on the water, there was some good vis in certain areas, flat seas and lots of fish. Murrays bag had 18 species and a squid that did not weigh; no Whiting, Salmon, Flathead, Kingfish or other common species for this area in his bag. The best bag could easily have had 22 or 23 species.
