Hi all, I thought I had better post something... I have been taking it easy up here, the weather is unbelievable, this is my 16th (first time serious-ish spearing) time up here and the wind conditions are awesome for once. I (we) a couple of old uni mates have been flicking lures around in lagoons within several rivers catching small barra, tarpon and sootys, grouse fun on 4lb, been doing a bit of wakeboarding, tubing and swimming in Peter Faust dam and had one evening troll (with a few too many Jonny Walker and dry cans chasing the XOS barra that reside in it, but no luck... yet! We have been getting out around the islands, had a few short dives tide viz permitting, however we are limited with the boat that we have unless the weather turns it on. Which it did on Monday/Tuesday, with 10 - 15knots for both days so we decided to head outside the public appreciation zone where the viz was awesome (up to 15meters which depends on the tide (low or high)) and camp on a deserted island for a night. Got onto a few painted crays, coral trout, parrot fish and spanish flag, missed two 20kg plus GT's with several large whalers and black tips escorting them around (they are everywhere... good shark therapy), not too worried as there are still more trips in the pipeline and only introduced my mate to the dog and berry flashing technique today. Anyway I will let these pics tell the rest (some are from last week and some are from Mon/Tues)...
