Hi all,

Attached is the ad of the 2013 19th Blue Water Classic held off Woolgoolga in northern NSW, Australia. This great event attracts divers near and far where a fantastic selection of blue water species can be encountered including wahoo, mackerels, tuna, marlin, and samson fish.

There will likely be a few SFD members travelling up for this event, so if interested, post something in this thread.

Email bluewaterclassic@hotmail.com for further information.

Cheers

I believe I will be there. How this thing work? Can we organize a boat for us or we tow ours? I don't feel like towing for that long.

You have to organise your own boat Alex, the organisers don't do it. Best take your own boat and make a holiday of it. Go early and learn the locations, this can be a very tough comp and about half the competitors don't weigh in a fish but when it's good, it's really good.

I was thinking about flying and then hiring a boat(and a car), with 2-3 people it can be much cheaper than driving.
Any one been there? what are the conditions? Normal Boat ramp or beach launching? visibility?

I've been many times. No boat hire that I know of and besides you cant hire a car with tow bar. Boat launching is beach at Woolgoolga, they have a tractor available. Condition vary from horrendous to sublime with in 24hrs. Visibility 1m to 40m with in 5 kms. Depends what the currents doing and distance from shore.

Yes , I most probably will be there.
No I did not know about Boab Boat hire, sounds good. You will have to enquire about car hire that allows you to tow boats.
