The Southern Freedivers Annual General Meeting was held a couple of weeks ago to elect the SFD committee and discuss the changes to Southern Freedivers going forward. It is my pleasure to introduce the new SFD committee for the 22/23 season.

Vice-President: Mitch Kornberg
Secretary/Treasurer: Stoj Pavlovski – non-committee member.
Social Secretary: Scott Kelly
VSC Club Representative: Bob Manning
General Committee Members: Andrew Vibert, Brendon Waller & Alan Fitzsimons

On behalf of the Southern Freedivers, we would like to thank the outgoing committee members, including Chris Rogers, for their extended time in the roles due to not being able to hold an AGM last year, and for their efforts over the duration of being involved with the committee.

Throughout discussions at multiple club meetings, changes were put to the club members to be voted in with a majority vote at the AGM. The following changes were voted in by current club members present at the AGM;

- The maximum age for the juniors category in the SFD Club Series is now reduced to 17 years old (previously it was 18).
- The number of Club Series dives over the SFD calendar has been reduced to 6 - previously it was 8.
- A new club logo.
- A new scoresheet with rules to match.

The AGM also gave everyone an opportunity to discuss important ideas going forward such as the club calendar, scoresheet revision, the new club logo, club clothing and more. We will provide more in-depth information regarding these topics in the coming weeks, and we will be releasing the club calendar as soon as possible in preparation for the upcoming dive season.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our next meeting on the 30th of August, with our first Club dive to follow a few weeks after that.
