I forgot to add on my way back found this little guy walking across the road. Thought i needed to give back to nature a little bit more than my egg and bacon wraps. So pulled over to lend a hand as it was 42 degrees and it wouldnt surprise me if his feet were melting. Anyway put him in some water 20m away which he was heading towards.

Great work Geoff!

Were you sick from the swell or just didn't feel well in general?

I went out to Point Lonsdale today with Jai. The conditions were amazing!! The viz up to 15 metres in some spots!
Got schooled by heaps of salmon but missed my shot
But I landed a nice snapper and grabbed a magi perch for dinner. I also got to swim with a seal for the first time, it was great! He hung around for bout half an hour.
Awesome day.

Had an enjoyable day today trying a few new spots on the west coast. Vis got better as the day did. Found these two not far apart. 2970g and 2.2kg. Best way to see out a public holiday I say.

Should have mentioned. Had fisheries jump me ten minutes after getting in. They asked what I was chasing. Told them Cray and snapper. They asked if I was getting crays while spearing and I replied no. At the time I was burleying for snapper. One fella told me it is illegal to have the gun while getting crays and they have had some trouble lately with people using the gun or parts of to push/pull cray out of holes. Interesting!
So I will still be taking a gun to go spearing and will take crays legally while in possession of the gun.
Whole incident seems a bit rich I reckon.

Did you tell them Blackie to ask where it is in the fisheries book? Only think we have to do it cut the middle section of the tail and then if there not happy with that you have to do what a mate did diving off Portarlington............. point your spear gun at them and tell them to get the fuck away from the boat!!!! Good Times

How far west did you go mate? ...roughly of course

I dove the reefs between lorne and kennett riv from 10 - 2, looked mint but the vis was 2 maybe 3m. Hunted hard for no result. There was however an abundance of 6 spines, maggie perch and other delights but i just watched them, was after crays.

Well rich , I have had enough of them wasting my time there time and our money, they think they are at war with anyone who uses our resources, and when they encounter a well seasoned spearo they look for any minor mistake possible and when it is to no avail the disgruntle ignorant attitude they display is pathetic . Power tripping hero fisheries officers need an overhaul.
