2014 Western Districts Spearfishing Titles
Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November 2014
The Western Districts Spearfishing Championships will be held on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November 2014. (Change of dates due to National Titles clash in January)
The competition is proudly hosted by the Shipwreck Coast Skindivers (SCS). The meeting for this competition will be the same as previous years with a 0800 hours meet both days at Southcombe Caravan Park, Port Fairy.
The exact location to be advised on the day; generally somewhere within the Port Fairy area.
NOTE: Usual sites like Griffith Island and Killarney will not be fished as they are venues for the National Titles in January. Access may be done through farmers properties and the convenor has advised that car-pooling should be done on the day and that there will be limited access with no “coming and going” throughout the day.
Western Districts is scheduled as a 2 day land based event, however it is still weather dependent and may be postponed should there be bad weather forecasted. The dive convenor will post the decision on the Thursday prior on the Shipwreck Coast FB page. PLEASE do not ring beforehand as a decision will not be made till the Thursday evening.
All Australian Underwater Federation members are welcome (Please join AUF, SFD or SCS BEFORE the comp... NOT on the day).
It is advised that EVERYONE read the SFD competition RULES prior to competing. These are the rules that the Western Districts will be held under.
