Been a while since I've posted. Forgot my old username but thought I'd post about my dive today. Had a look around North east bay area. Few pinkies around but harder to entice the larger ones in. Another diver out there managed to get an ever elusive Kingy. Thought I'd be less specific about location just in case. Few squid also but flighty. Was a middle of the day session. Looking forward to getting back there early morning.

Dived in southern PPB area on Wednesday
Not sure if my yellow weights would scare squid away or I just need to improve my motions.

It has been a bit quiet on this forum so i thought i would heat it up a little.

Got out for a swim today. Very toasty in my 5mm wetsuit but i have a water filtration system which is called a "hole in the arse of my wetsuit" which helped keep me at an equilibrium temperature. Pretty hazy out deep, pretty hazy in medium water, pretty clear in close. Definitely not the cleanest water i have dived in.

Flashing for who knows what might come in, and a flathead comes from the depth and comes to my flasher. I had my 130cm so i pounded it with two rubbers mid water and he fell like a brick.

Found a snook swimming away so dived on him and took the old "hail mary" shot from 4m "Mitch from downtown!" and i managed to stone him. Probably a kilo and a half snook but lost an even bigger one

Lost a flathead as well, but thats the game. Good fun to get in the water.

Some pics from the last couple of bay dives.

Pretty good results considering the abysmal vis, nothing like swimming in the murk that is PPB at the moment.

Special mentions and notes:

Boosted getting kissed by one of the largest stingrays I have seen in the bay.
The same stingray using my dive float as a chew toy!
A school of Trevs making a jelly fish disappear in a matter of seconds, obviously thought they where Piranhas for a minute!!

The boat dive was probably the fishiest dive for a long time 3 schools of Trevs 50+, 1 school of Salmon 100+, 1 school of Large whiting 30+, Snapper, Snook and the usual reef fish.

Such a shame the vis was about 1m infront of the gun..

Today was awesome! Me, my friend shooting around a estimated 6kg in Brighton. Defiantly took the rust off the tips of our guns. Days like this was only a dream. Can't wait to cook it up

Dived today. Water dirty 3-5m Vis. Plenty of small salmon schools but most of the fish were 500g. Ended up with a couple nice pinkies, round the kilo mark.

Got out at black rock this morning as the wind was right down and the bay was practically completely flat. Went out at black rock and saw a big snapper and a few duskys and shot a nice little flathead. The vis was actually pretty good but I didn't last long in the water as it was only 12 degrees. If any beginners like me are looking for a dive buddy for the bay im happy to meet up for a dive but maybe in the warmer months.
